The Sweet Spot - January 2019
Welcome to the second installment of The Sweet Spot, a monthly newsletter from the owner of Leadbury Bat Co Mitchell Godkin. It is a new year and I hope everybody had an enjoyable Christmas holiday. It is back to work here at Leadbury and we are full steam ahead preparing for the 2019 baseball season. There are many exciting things to come in 2019 from us here at Leadbury, and in this edition of The Sweet Spot I am going to highlight a few of those for you.
Leadbury Bat Co has several sponsorship packages available for all types of baseball players, organizations and facilities. We are now official sponsors of The Power Alley in St Thomas and Pinnacle Fieldhouse in Stratford. Both facilities have recently opened and bring exciting new indoor training opportunities to their respective cities. If you are in either the Stratford or St Thomas area check them out!
We have dedicated sponsorship packages for elite youth players, semi-pro and pro players as well as team and organization sponsorship packages. Discounted pricing is also available for orders of 12 bats or more. If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities, shoot me an email and I will be happy to help. The Leadbury team is growing steadily and we have several exciting players joining us for 2019. Stay tuned for more updates on players who will be representing Leadbury on the field this season.
Custom Series Bats
Leadbury has been offering custom bats for several months now, but a new customer experience is coming soon. Our online bat builder is nearly complete and will be live in the next few weeks. You will have the ability to select your model, wood species, colours and custom labeling directly through our website and preview your custom bat in real time. Several colour choices as well as long awaited half sizes will be available in our Custom Series.
Our demo fleet is fully stocked with every Leadbury model available (30+) and will be making stops at many indoor facilities this winter, and tournaments and events this summer. We will be at The Athlete Factory in Kitchener January 26th and 27th for Tri-City Giants players as well as Triple Play Academy February 10th for Ontario Cardinals players. Watch our social media for updates on demo days at Pinnacle Fieldhouse and The Power Alley as well as others. If your team would like to schedule a demo day with Leadbury, reach out and we can set up a date.
The last update for this Sweet Spot newsletter will be the upcoming introduction of yellow birch to our growing array of bat models. Leadbury birch has been undergoing extensive testing since last July and will be available to the public Spring 2019. Several London Majors tested our new Birch models last summer, and the second iteration of bats are now in the hands of Jay McEvoy (@picklethebeast417) in Virginia, Dutch Whitacker (@405baseball) in Oklahoma and our favourite test subject Byron Reichstein (@reichstein22). Look for these on our online store soon. They are sure to set a new performance and durability benchmark for Leadbury bats.
That is all from me for this installment of The Sweet Spot. For our friends here in Canada, I hope you are staying warm during the cold winter months. Baseball season will be here before we know it. For those in the sunny south, we are eternally jealous. Catch you next month.
